Diving at Homestead Crater Geothermal Hot Spring in Midway, Utah
Homestead Crater is a popular geothermal hot spring for diving and snorkeling. In fact, it’s the only warm scuba dive site in the continental United States, and its waters hover around 95 degrees Fahrenheit year-round, according to the Crater website.

The Homestead Resort, where the hot springs are located, states that the hot springs formed over 10,000 years ago when snow from the nearby Wasatch Mountains seeped into the earth. The water warmed up and rose to the surface where it deposited minerals that formed a volcano-like dome.
