CHIMICS BAT LAPEER AT VOLLEYBALL

Midland High swept host Lapeer 25-22, 25-18, 25-18 in Saginaw Valley League volleyball on Tuesday to improve to 19-18-1 on aggregate and 5-6 in the valley.

Emily Genau led the Chemics with 11 assists and 15 digs, while Olivia McMath had eight assists and 22 assists, Renee Mulvaney had four assists and three blocks, and Aly Hebert had four kills and four. as.

Summer Luick had four kills and seven blocks for Dow, while Taryn Williams had three kills and 14 digs, Alli Miller had 17 digs and Taylor Neuman also had three kills.

The Chargers (13-13-4 overall, 5-6 Valley) will head to Midland High next Tuesday.

MIDLAND JV WINS VOLLEYBALL, NEWS LOSE

Midland High rallied to beat host Lapeer 23-25, 25-14, 15-13 in junior varsity volleyball on Tuesday.

Jenna Rekeweg had seven assists for the Chemics, while Brigid O’Malley had three assists, three aces and 10 digs, Hayden Purvis finished with 16 assists and Grace Schloop added 11 digs.

Midland will travel to the Mount Morris tournament on Saturday.

In the freshman game, the Chemics lost to the Lightning 25-21, 25-16, 8-15. Midland (20-9-2) will host Dow High next Tuesday.
