Lady Wolves Swimming and Diving named 3A Co-Champion with Lander

GILLETTE – The Green River Lady Wolves Swimming and Diving were named co-champions this year at the 3A State Swimming and Diving Championships in Gillette.

Green River and Lander have made history as this is the first time two teams have shared the state title in Wyoming Women’s 3A swimming history.

Lady Wolves tied things up in the very last event, finding themselves six points behind the squad behind Lander before the 400 freestyle. Green River finished ahead of Lander in the last event, tied for first place.

Individually, Green River was very successful in each event, winning six of the events. Tanith Smith had two wins in the 100 backstroke and 50 free yards. Courtney Clark finished first in the 500-yard freestyle, while Lilly Munoz took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke. The Lady Wolves relay teams also won the 200 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay.
