Scuba Diving Santa Claus is causing a stir in North Battleford
This is the most wonderful time of year – for Santa to go scuba diving.
Mr and Mrs Claus made time, despite their busy schedules, to visit North Battleford on Sunday.
âMe and Mrs. Claus spend the whole year preparing for Christmas and the 24th and 25th are our busiest times. So we like to get away a few days before Christmas and somehow enjoy our favorite sport, âsaid Santa Claus.

Members of the Battlefords diving community helped organize the event at the Battlefords Co-op Aquatic Center and ended up joining in the fun.
âIt’s my favorite thing to do besides giving gifts to everyone on Christmas,â said Santa.
The Clauses wanted to share their hidden passion for diving and encourage more people to try it.

Few showed up as they expected, but the Christmas spirit did.
Divers also hosted an event in Regina on Friday with the Scuba and Snorkel Club which welcomed around 20 visitors ready to sit on Santa’s lap.
Asked about the traditional photo of Santa Claus where someone is sitting on his lap, he replied, âIt’s a little more difficult. You have to be trained in scuba diving and everything is a bit more difficult underwater.
This is the first year of scuba diving that St. Nick has stopped his sled in North Battleford, but he and Mrs. Claus want to add this visit to their long list of Christmas traditions.
