After giving India a good start on Day 1 of the ongoing first test match against South Africa, opener Mayank Agarwal also had the chance on his side as he was abandoned by wicket keeper Quinton de Kock on the fourth delivery of the 18th. The opener gained an outside advantage on a delivery from Marco Jansen but De Kock, who dove to his right, was unable to hold him back. Mayank was batting 36 at the time.

Here’s the video of De Kock dropping Mayank in Centurion:

Earlier, Indian captain Virat Kohli won the draw and chose to beat South Africa.

For the first test match, Kohli and Rahul Dravid went ahead with five bowlers (Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami).

The batting formation consists of Mayank, KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant.

In what could be a deciding factor in the outcome of the game, the management of the visiting team received polarizing reactions from fans after choosing Rahane over Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer.

The visitors will aim to post a solid opening heats total and build some momentum on Day 1. India have never won a Test Series in South Africa and are hoping to break that spell this time around.
