One at the gate, another for Sporting Kansas City. Gianluca Busio’s transfer to Venezia FC in Italy has become official, as has the side signing of Jose Mauri, an Argentinian-Italian midfielder. We’re talking about the two on SportsBeat KC, The Star’s daily sports podcast, with Shaun Goodwin and Cora Hall.

Also on the menu: Sporting KC is on fire, a 4-1 LAFC triumph as the last conquest. Daniel Salloi continues to impress and has been named to the MLS All-Star Team.

The United States Women’s National Team, coached by Vlatko Andonovski of Kansas City, won an Olympic medal but not the one they hoped for, and KC NWSL were represented in the Olympic gold medal match.
