LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky swim and dive team kicked off the 2021-22 season with the annual blue-white intra-team meet on Friday afternoon at the Lancaster Aquatic Center. The blue team dominated the competition, finishing with 306.5 points compared to the white team’s 276.5 points on their way to end the white team’s eight-year winning streak.

“It was a fun encounter highlighted by the victory of the blue team for the very first time since I’ve been here,” said the senior co-captain. The Wildcats have competed in 32 events, including four diving events. Two competition records were broken during the fun and lively scrum: Kyle barker put the score back in the men’s 100 backstroke while Gaines eclipsed the women’s 50 freestyle record.
