Since becoming India’s first independent Olympic athletics medalist, Neeraj Chopra has become the nation’s talking point. The day after returning home from Tokyo, the star athlete was consumed by various public and media engagements for nearly a month.

However, it looks like the 23-year-old has finally taken the time to savor the victory and enjoy his success. For the past few days, he has been on vacation by the sea in the Maldives. Chopra gave fans a glimpse of her vacation by posting panoramic photographs of her time on the island.

He took to Instagram to post a video of the Maldives that captured the hearts of fans across the country. Chopra can be seen playing his javelin throw and the celebration we saw during his gold medal event underwater while scuba diving.

He captioned the post: “Aasman par, zameen pe, ya underwater, I still think of the javelin!” and also joked that he started training by saying, “PS: Training shuru ho gayi hai” with AR Rehman’s version of the patriotic song “Vande Mataram” in the background.

Neeraj only became India’s second individual gold medalist after finishing first in the men’s javelin throw in Tokyo. His throw of 87.58m secured him his medal at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium in August.

After her success at the Olympics, Chopra decided not to participate in any events this season due to lack of training time. He will return to action in the 2022 season in what will be a big year for the javelin thrower as he aims to defend his crown at the Commonwealth and Asian Games.

The Olympic champion has received various awards and featured in a few commercials since he became a household name across the country after his success on the biggest stage.
